Wayne was really great - very knowledgeable and he brought along essential equipment to show us, and he gave us a wish list of 'nice to haves' too. Although it was a mixed night of cloud and a few clear patches it wasn't possible to photograph the Milky Way, but we were very able to practice what Wayne taught. Really great location too - we were able to use the church and keep warm and dry, as well as benefit from better lighting! I really enjoyed the session - I learned a lot and would recommend to anyone and everyone interested in photographing the stars or Milky Way.

Decided to make use of the dark nights now upon us. As a consequence around 5:30pm on Tuesday 26th November headed down onto the Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside and attempted some long exposure (LE) night photography.Took up a position in the middle of the Millennium Bridge. The River Tyne was like a millpond so the reflections were good. Set-up my tripod and using my Fuji XT-3 with the Fuji 16mm(f/2.8) lens set about taking some L E shots. I had to take into account the wobble on the bridge so

I'm interested in beginnings and endings and was particularly drawn to the story of coffin roads in the remote West Highlands. Coffin Roads, more crudely known as Corpse Roads were a means of connecting remote rural communities with churches and chapels with cemeteries to rest their dead. People would walk, sometimes for days, transporting bodies over inaccessible land and over the centuries, they have become linked to folklore, ghosts and irascible spirits.I spotted this sign to the Cla
